OCVFC Chief Jester Nationally Recognized Fire Instructor
On April 28th, Ocean City Fire Department’s Deputy Chief of the Volunteer Division, Jay Jester spoke at FDIC in Indianapolis. FDIC stands for “Fire Department Instructors Conference” that is a yearly international training forum attended by Fire Chiefs, Fire Instructors, Fire Officers and Firefighters from career and volunteer departments who seek to better serve their communities by increasing their knowledge and skills. Attendance this year is upwards of 35,000. Last year, Chief Jester was given a “double sized” classroom resulting in standing room only. This year, he was provided an even larger classroom that was nearly filled to capacity with attendees. FDIC Instructors are internationally renowned within the fire service for their insights and being on “the cutting edge” of new trends and techniques.
