Ocean City Volunteer Fire Company confirms an Monday afternoon fire at the Bedtime Inn on Ocean Gateway in West Ocean City. Officials tell us they were called to the scene around 12:35 PM, and had the blaze under control by 1:06 PM. The Fire Department says they were able to keep the fire contained to one unit of the building. No word yet on the extent of the damages. WMDT spoke with staff at the Bedtime Inn. They tell us that the fire started in one of the efficiency rooms. That building was evacuated. Ocean City Fire Department Chief Chris Larmore says "we responded to the scene and were able to contain the fire very quickly. The members of the OCFD did a great job acting promptly and professionally to prevent this incident from escalating." One person was reportedly treated at the scene and released with minor injuries. At this time, the investigation by the Worcester County Fire Marshal's Office, is still on-going. We will bring more details as they become available.
