The remnants of Tropical Storm Ida pounded the U.S. East Coast on Friday, November 13, 2009. Ocean City has suffered severe beach erosion due to the storm. No injuries were reported from the storm. Ocean City Fire Department provided extra duty crews and manpower to ensure adequate staffing. Personnel responded to three boat public service calls as portions of the south end of town were under water. Ocean City remained under coastal flood warnings, high wind warnings, and high surf advisories for several days.
