Ocean City Assists Berlin W/ Working House Fire
On the above date at 1635 hours Berlin and Showell was alerted for a house fire. When Engine 604 went responding they could see a plume up from the station. Command 6 arrived on the scene with a working fire in a large ranch style house. Command requested multiple additional resources from Ocean Pines, Showell and Ocean City. Engine 604 initiated an interior attack but were pulled out due to the quickly advancing fire and initially a limited water supply. Crews switched to a defensive operation. A drafting tank was set up for water supply along with a supply relay from a nearby water source and a portable pump drafting operation from a above ground pool. Additional resources from Newark, Bishopville and Willard’s assisted on the fire ground. Pittsville provided a cover up at Berlin HQ. Crew's remained on the scene for several hours. A canteen from Ocean City provided much needed refreshments at the incident. Worcester County FM 2 was on the scene for the investigation.
