Ocean City's newest aerial acquisition, a 100' E-One Tower Ladder, designated Tower 1, answered her first alarm with the members of C Platoon on Wednesday 19 June 2013. The call was for a smoke investigation on the 3rd floor on the Holiday Inn on 17th Street. Engine 1, Tower Ladder 1, and Heavy Rescue 1 responded on the run. The investigation crew from E-1 reported a microwave oven had malfunctioned causing a light smoke condition and odor in a room on the 3rd floor. The crew from Tower Ladder 1 utilized fans to assist with ventilation of the room.
