Hurricane Earl rolled up the East Coast with little effect on Ocean City. Feared to have a possible strong impact, the Ocean City Fire Department (OCFD) prepared for the storm by ensuring that crews were ready to handle any emergency. Volunteer Duty Crews were on stand-by and put in additional hours to staff fire and rescue apparatus.
