Dedication Ceremony - OC Firefighter Memorial
The monument is located at North Division Street and the Boardwalk. The groundbreaking ceremony was held on 11 September 2005. As of 28 August 2006 the project was complete with the setting of the WTC steel. Please stop by and look at this wonderful undertaking. The dedication ceremony was held on Monday 11 September 2006, commencing promptly at 8:46 AM to coincide with the first plane hitting the North Tower five years earlier.
This monument to Bravery, Courage, Tradition and Pride features a 6 foot tall sculpted bronze statue of a firefighter upon a black granite base. The four sides of the black granite base will commemorate:
