Passing of Life Member Kenneth Tyler Sr.

The Officer’s & Members of the Ocean City Volunteer Fire Company would like to extend our condolences to Worcester County & the Worcester County Sheriff’s Office on news of the passing of former Sheriff William Kenneth Tyler Sr. Sheriff Tyler served the residents of Worcester County with honor and pride from 1958 – 1966. Sheriff Tyler was first elected in 1958 and re-elected again in 1966. Sheriff Tyler also has the distinction of being the first Sheriff of Worcester County to wear a uniform and have a vehicle. Mr. Tyler also served as County Commissioner from 1986-1990, and as Orphan's Court Judge from 1994-2006.

To honor the distinguished service and life of Sheriff Tyler, the shrouding of Engine 8 has been authorized as of 3/13/19.

There will be a memorial service Saturday, March 16th, 2019 at St. Paul's by the Sea in Ocean City, MD at 2:00pm. Visitation is one hour prior to the service.
