Lionel W. Massey, 76, of Bishopville, MD died Sunday, March 14, 2010 at Atlantic General Hospital in Berlin. He was born in Salisbury and grew up in Ocean City, the son of the late Francis W. and Catherine R. McTavish Massey. 

He owned and operated Massey Catering Service with his wife Helen. He was a member of St. Paul’s By The Sea Episcopal Church in Ocean City, member and past Commander of the American Legion Post 166 in Ocean City and a life member of the Ocean City Volunteer Fire Department. He loved horses and was an active member of the United States Trotting Association. He was also a US Army Veteran. 

He is survived by his wife, Helen G. Massey of Bishopville; a son, Kirk Massey of Bishopville and a daughter, Tami Davis and her husband Terry of Millsboro, DE; two granddaughters who were the loves of his life, Morgan Davis and Billye Marie Massey
