Friday, October 30, 2015

Pink fire trucks and police cars are heading across the country as part of the Pink Heals Tour, Guardians of the Ribbon, Supporting Woman and Raising Awareness for the fight against cancer and inspiring men to support women of their community. They will make their first visit to Ocean City, Maryland on Thursday, September 5th, 2013 from 11 to 4 p.m. at the 45th Street TAPHOUSE Bar & Grille.

The Pink Heals Movement was started in 2007 by former professional athlete and firefighter Dave Graybill, a group of firefighters started out on a quest to spread the Cares Enough to Wear Pink campaign across the country. Their mission: to help local communities with the battle against cancer. who started the movement with one pink truck. Dave Graybill along with fire fighters and police officers from several states, volunteer their time and travel across the country in pink fire trucks as part of the annual “Pink Heals Tour”.

The Maryland State Firemen’s Association Cancer Support Network is just thrilled that they picked Ocean City as a stop on their official tour for 2013. We are throwing a party and inviting the community to come out and celebrate Women and a great cause.

The Pink Heals Tour event will take place with a welcome ceremony at the Ocean City VFC Firefighter’s Memorial located on the boardwalk by Mayor Richard Meehan, and then proceed to 45th street Taphouse Bar & Grill for the celebration event. Activities will include a pink balloon launch at 1:00 pm; write a message of support – people with family members/friends who are or were stricken with cancer are encouraged to sign the Pink Fire Truck with their message of inspiration, support or hope to honor women who have been impacted by cancer; meet the Firefighters and Police officers that travel across the country; custom T-shirts for sale promoting the tour event as well as; Pink Heals items for sale include stickers, bracelets, t-shirts and many more items, prices range from $2 to $25; (apparel sales fund 100% of the PINK HEALS Tour); say “PINK” and take a picture with the Pink Fire Trucks and their drivers; Lunch at Taphouse Bar & Grill available from 2 to 4 for a donation and many other fun activities.
