Condo Fire - Bradley on the Bay

Friday, October 30, 2015
On Wednesday, September 26, 2012 at 5:56 PM, the Ocean City Fire Department was dispatched to Bradley on the Bay Condominiums, 3701 Coastal Highway, Ocean City, Worcester County Maryland, for a reported structure fire. Responding units observed heavy smoke during response, and initial arriving units observed he...avy smoke and fire on the third floor of the building. A second alarm was requested by the incident commander, resulting in neighboring fire departments from Berlin, Showell, Ocean Pines and Bethany being dispatched to the scene and Roxana covering north end stations. Heavy fire involvement and floor collapse in the building caused fire fighters to take an exterior operations fire attack early in the incident. The firefighters battled the fire for approximately four and a half hours. Fire department units remained on scene throughout the night to control potential rekindles inside the structure. Nine units received heavy fire damage with heavy water damage to the remaining structure. Both adjacent buildings received exterior heat damage. One fire fighter received minor burns, was treated at Atlantic General Hospital and released to work, no other injuries were reported. Ocean City Police and MD Natural Resource Police officers assisted throughout the incident with evacuations and traffic control. The fire scene was turned over to the Fire Marshal’s Office at 9:15 am, today’s date. The cause of the fire is currently under investigation. Anyone with eyewitness information from the scene in the early stages of the fire, or with any other information, is asked to contact the Fire Marshals Office at 410-289-8462.
