We regret to announce the passing of OCVFC Life Member William Kenneth Tyler, Sr. He had 65 years of service within the Department, with 13 of those years being an Active Firefighter. Antique 8 is draped in his honor and on display at the Keyser Point Rd. Station 5.

We would like to congratulate Lt. Jordan Braniff who has been promoted to the rank of Acting Captain for B-Platoon.
Also, this summer the department will be appointing several members to the new rank of Master Firefighter. This position was designed to supplement the officer position. Congratulations to Jeff Aperance, Brad Bunting, Sean Goggin, Chris Kehne, Jerry Priestley, Freddie Senger, Josh Steger, Firuz Etemad-Moghadam, Bob Rhode, Cole Zink, Roger Steger, and Jason Bloom.

Assist Stranded Motorist

While returning from a call in West Ocean City, Engine 1 came across a stranded motorist on 611. The crew stopped to make sure the passengers in the vehicle were okay and assisted moving the vehicle out of the roadway into the safety of a nearby parking lot.
